TAG Assessment Registration for new students that received Gifted/Talented Services in a previous district are available on the New Student Referral page. Registration should be made within 4 weeks of the first day of enrollment.
Overview of Services:
TAG Services in Highland Park ISD seek to develop and nurture student potential, provide continuous opportunities for advanced performance, and advocate for students with gifted potential.
The state of Texas defines a gifted and talented student as one who performs at or shows the potential for performing at a remarkably high level of accomplishment when compared to others of the same age, experience, or environment and who:
- exhibits high-performance capability in an intellectual, creative, or artistic area;
- possesses an unusual capacity for leadership; or
- excels in a specific academic field.

| January 27-February 14, 2025 | TAG Testing Window |
| January 27-February 14, 2025 | Secondary TAG Waiver application window |
| April 25, 2025 | TAG placement letters and Secondary Waiver applications posted to Skyward |
| April 25 - May 16, 2025 | TAG Level 1 Appeal Window (closes at 4 PM) |
| May 23, 2025 | TAG Level 1 Appeal Decision Posted to Skyward |
| Fall 2025 | TAG Services (classes) begin |
