It is the mission of the HPISD Communications Department to act as an effective liaison between the community and the school district. Specific areas of responsibility include:

Media Relations

The Communications Department is responsible for all media requests. During the school year, the department writes and distributes a weekly e-newsletter to school district employees, parents, media representatives, school board members, and members of the e-news group. All media inquiries should be directed to the HPISD Director of Communications.

Community Relations

HPISD posts all relevant newcomer information on the website. For a campus tour, please contact the individual campuses.

Employee Relations

The Communications Department honors employees every spring at the annual Employee Service Recognition and Professional Achievement Dinner and program. This special program recognizes employees celebrating 5, 10, 15, 20, or 25+ years of service in HPISD, retiring employees, Teachers of the Year from each campus, and professional achievement recipients.

School Closings

School closings and late starts will be announced on the district website, across official HPISD social media platforms and on the main switchboard, 214-780-3000. 

District Website

The Highland Park ISD website is maintained by the Communications Department. Campus webmasters also work with the district webmaster to make certain that all campus websites meet district standards for content and display.
