Scots Champions

Scots end the 2018-19 school year as champions

The Scots closed out the 2018-19 school year with an impressive number of state championships in academics, fine arts and athletics. Congratulations to all of our champion Scots, we look forward to another year of excellence!

  • The HPHS Math and Science teams won the first-place Sweepstakes Award at the Texas Math and Science Coaches Association (TMSCA) State Meet.
  • For the third consecutive year, the HPHS Number Sense, Mathematics and Science teams have won 5A Championships at the UIL State Academic Meet.
  • The HPHS Academic Decathlon team won its third state title in four years at the 2019 Medium Division State Championship Meet.
  • Three choir students, two members of the Highlander Strings Orchestra and eight Highlander Band members earned Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-State honors. 
  • The Scots tennis team captured its third consecutive 5A state championship. It is HP's 19th time to win the state title and its 31st consecutive trip to the state tournament. 
  • The Scots football team celebrated back-to-back-to-back 5A State Championships.
  • For the seventh time, the Lady Scots soccer team is 5A State Champions. 
  • For the third consecutive year, the Scots golf team won the 5A Boys Golf State Champions.
