Food Services
Overview of Services
The Highland Park Food Services Department has maintained a long-standing tradition of excellence since 1924. HPISD Food Services provides high-quality nutritious food in a professional, welcoming and courteous environment while maintaining a financially secure operation overseen by a campuses respective parent-teacher association (PTA). The PTA’s are vital in supporting strategies concerning operational aspects, establishing clear directions and offering training for the volunteer members of the Cafeteria Committees.
A well-balanced meal plays an important role in each child’s day. We believe in providing a "best in class" food service program with creating an environment that helps students flourish. We offer a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables daily, as well as wholesome à la carte meals provided at a reasonable cost.
We take pride in providing the highest sanitation standards to further ensure our food safety. Therefore, all food service staff members are required to have Food Handler Certifications; and all food service managers are ServSafe Food Service Manager certified. Volunteers are also required to complete yearly sanitation training.
Our staff is here to help you! If you have any questions about the department, please contact the manager of the campus in which your child is attending. You may also contact the food service director’s mainline, and we will direct you to the correct contact.
We are indebted to the hundreds of involved, hard-working and dedicated parents that participate in the daily operations of the Food Services Department.
