Highland Park Education Foundation

Over the last 35 years, the Highland Park Education Foundation (HPEF) has granted more than $35 million to HPISD. HPEF partners with the district in many ways: providing teacher and staff salary support through Mad for Plaid, scholarships for teachers and students, facilitating grants for teacher innovation projects and professional development, growing a permanent endowment, supporting the Moody Innovation Institute, veterans plaque, HPHS Alumni Association, Retired Teachers' Luncheon, and more!

The Eileen and John Howie Award:
A grant is awarded each year in memory of Eileen and John Howie in celebration of their generous and dedicated volunteer work in this community. This financial award is given at the Highland Park ISD Convocation to a teacher, administrator, or staff member who exemplifies the spirit of community service. The focus of this award is on involvement and commitment to HPISD schools, as well as service to the greater community.
Congratulations to our 2019-20 Howie Award recipient McCulloch Intermediate School Assistant Principal Dr. Marcia Pool!
