Facilities Update: May 2019

Highland Park ISD continues to make progress with design and construction related to the $361.4 million bond election approved by voters in November 2015.
 
Bradfield Elementary School Rebuild:

A camera is installed on the construction site to provide district staff, parents and community members an up-to-date look at the progress on Bradfield. The camera takes a picture of the site approximately every 10 minutes.   • In the education wing of the campus, the sheetrock walls are 98 percent complete, and the first coat of paint is ongoing. The exterior brick continues to be installed while the interior ceiling grid is 98 percent complete. Placement of ceramic tile in the bathrooms is now complete.
  • The parking garage driveway is installed.
  • In area B, the administrative wing, the roof is 98 percent complete.
  • The gym masonry unit installation has been completed. The placement of structural steel is nearing completion in the gymnasium, cafeteria and kitchen.
  • Interior framing is ongoing for both the cafeteria and kitchen, while roofing is nearing completion.
  • The transformer has been installed.
  • The site's work utility installation is ongoing and 95 percent complete.
  • The school is on schedule for completion during the summer of 2019.
 
Hyer Elementary School Rebuild:
  • The Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) of $36,301,361 was approved at the May 7 called Board meeting.
  • Construction is scheduled to start during the summer of 2019.
  • An abatement contractor was approved and is scheduled to start Monday, June 3.

Renovations and Additions at MIS/HPMS:
  • The south side addition finishes are soon to be completed. Elevators have also been installed.
  • The north addition exterior brick installation is complete. Interior walls are also complete and final preparations are ongoing.
  • The interior renovations of locker rooms and weight rooms are nearing completion.
  • The exterior site work for track and field activities is soon approaching completion.
  • The schools are still on schedule to be completed for the start of the 2019-20 school year.

Northwest Addition at Highland Park High School:
  • The final elevated pan-deck and steel erection have been completed. The second floor was poured May 22.
  • All brick installation for the north wall section is complete.
  • Sections of the building have been sheetrocked.
  • The structure is expected to be available for occupancy mid-August 2019.
  • The existing band hall and orchestra room renovation are almost complete.

Multi-Use Building:
  • The ground floor slab has been poured.
  • Construction of the concrete columns in the pool area is complete. The structural concrete installation for bleachers is also complete.
  • The site's structural steel installation is ongoing.
  • Underground plumbing and electrical wiring are also ongoing.

Natatorium Infill and High School Renovations:
  • The Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) of $29,323,687 was approved at the May 14 called Board meeting.
  • Interior renovations are scheduled to start construction during the summer of 2019.
  • The construction of the natatorium infill is not scheduled to start until the Multi-Use Building (with the new pool) has been completed.
  • The proposed start date is April 2020.
 
Highlander Stadium Renovations:
  • A schematic design is scheduled to start in May 2019.
  • Construction is scheduled to start in Feb. 2020.

Bradfield Elementary School Rebuild: A camera is installed on the construction site to provide district staff, parents and community members an up-to-date look at the progress on Bradfield.   • HPISD administration, trustees and members of the community gathered at the new Bradfield Elementary construction site April 9 to sign the construction beam that will be placed at the highest part of the school. Check out the video above for an inside look at the new school's progress.
  • The installation of sheetrock walls in the education wing is 95 percent complete while the first coat of paint is ongoing. Exterior brick continues to be installed. 
  • The parking garage drive walls are complete. The grading and forming are ongoing for the driveway pour.
  • Steel erection for area B (the administrative wing) is complete. The roof deck has been installed, and roofing is underway. Area B second and third-floor slabs have been poured. The exterior sheathing is nearing completion. 
  • The gym masonry unit installation is now complete. The placement of structural steel is nearing completion for the gym, cafeteria and kitchen.
  • Site work utility installation is ongoing and 85 percent complete.
  • The school is on schedule for completion during the summer of 2019.
 
Hyer Elementary School Rebuild:

  • Construction documents are complete.
  • Balfour Beatty received subcontractor bids April 16 and are in the process of preparing a GMP for the project.
  • Construction is scheduled to start during the summer of 2019.

 

Renovations and Additions at MIS/HPMS:

  • The south addition exterior brick installation is now complete. Roofing installation has also been completed. Interior walls are installed and being painted. Additional finishes are being added and elevators have been installed.
  • The north addition exterior sheathing is complete, and exterior brick installation is ongoing. Interior walls are also nearing completion. The overhead mechanical and electrical installation is nearing completion and the rooftop HVAC units are now set.
  • An interior renovation of the locker rooms and weight rooms is now underway.
  • The exterior site work for track and field activities is ongoing.
  • The school renovations are expected to be completed for the start of the 2019-20 school year.
 

Northwest Addition at Highland Park High School:

  • In the eastern section of all floors, installation for mechanical and electrical overhead continues, while interior wall partitions are sheathed.
  • The basement floor slab is complete. The final elevated pan-deck will be ready for a concrete pour on Friday, April 19, pending weather. The steel is on site and available to start erection once the pour is complete.
  • The brick installation for the north wall section is nearing completion.
  • Structural steel over the previously poured pan-deck section is installed and decked. 
  • The structure is expected to be available for occupancy in late July.

 

Multi-Use Building:
  • Grade beams are installed. Concrete column construction in the pool area is ongoing.
  • Underground plumbing and electrical are ongoing.
  • A portion of the first-floor slab was placed April 16.

 

Natatorium Infill and High School Renovations:
  • The Design and Construction Committee recommended that the District move forward with the final design and bidding of updated expanded scope (based on architect discussions with high school staff). Interior renovations are scheduled to start construction during the summer of 2019.
  • Construction drawings are complete, and bids were received from subcontractors Tuesday, April 9. Lee Lewis is in the process of reviewing bids and preparing a GMP.
  • The construction of the natatorium infill not scheduled to start until the Multi-Use Building (with the new pool) is completed (Proposed start Feb. 2020).

 

Highlander Stadium Renovations:
• Schematic Design is scheduled to start in May 2019.
• Construction is scheduled to start in Feb. 2020.

• All parking garage pours are complete.
• Exterior studs and sheathing installation is complete in the education wing. Interior wall framing in the education wing is complete, and interior sheathing is 95 percent complete. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing installation is ongoing.
• Steel erection for area B (administrative wing) is complete. Area B second and third-floor slabs have been poured.
• Gym masonry unit installation is ongoing. Cafeteria and kitchen steel is being erected.
• Site work utility installation is ongoing.
• The school is on schedule for completion during the summer of 2019.
 
Hyer Elementary School Rebuild:

• Architects continue to develop plans for the project.
• The City of University Park City Council has approved the zoning.
• Construction is scheduled to start during the summer of 2019.

 

Renovations and Additions at MIS/HPMS:

• The southside addition exterior brick installation is nearing completion. Roofing installation is now complete. Interior walls are installed. Finishes are being installed. Permanent electric power is connected, and HVAC rooftop units have been installed. The new band hall is now open and occupied by students.
• The north addition exterior sheathing is complete. Interior walls are being installed. Overhead mechanical and electrical is ongoing.
• The parking garage has permanent power. 
• Exterior site work for track and field activities is ongoing.
• The school renovations are expected to be completed for the start of the 2019-20 school year.

Northwest Addition at Highland Park High School:


• The eastern section of all floors continues to install mechanical and electrical overhead, while interior wall partitions are being installed and sheathed.
• 80 percent of the basement floor slab has been poured. The first pour of three pan-deck concrete pours for the basement storm shelter roof structure are now complete.
• Exterior wall sheathing is ongoing.
• Structural steel is being installed for the remaining section of building over the new basement.
• Because of additional weather delays, the structure is expected to be available for occupancy late July.

 

Multi-Use Building:
• Grade beams are installed.
• Underground plumbing and electrical are ongoing. 
• Rebar is installed in preparation of structural column pours scheduled for mid-March.

 

Natatorium Infill and High School Renovations:

• The design is complete. Construction drawings are now in production.
• Natatorium infill and new student entry zoning were approved by City Council.
• The Design and Construction Committee recommended that the District move forward with the final design and bidding of updated expanded scope (based on architect discussions with high school staff). Interior renovations are scheduled to start construction during summer 2019.

• The parking garage walls and columns are complete.
• The fourth of five concrete pours for the garage lid was placed Saturday, Feb. 9. The final pour is scheduled for this Friday, Feb. 15.
• The steel erection in the Education wing is complete.
• Exterior studs and sheathing installation is ongoing.
• Interior wall framing in the Education wing continues on all three floors.
• Mechanical, electrical and plumbing installation is ongoing.
• The steel erection for area B (Administrative wing) is ongoing and nearing completion.
• The school is on schedule for completion during the summer of 2019.
 
Hyer Elementary School Rebuild:

• Architects continue to develop plans for the project.
• The City of University Park City Council hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 19.
• Construction is scheduled to start during the summer of 2019.

Renovations and Additions at MIS/HPMS:

• Sheathing for the south side addition building has been completed. Brick installation is ongoing and roofing installation will be completed the week of Feb. 11. Interior walls have also been installed. Permanent electric power is now connected, and HVAC rooftop units will be installed this week.
• All of the north addition steel has been erected. The exterior sheathing process is almost complete and interior walls are being installed. 
• The underground parking garage has permanent power.
• The exterior site work for track and field activities started the week of Feb. 4.

 
Northwest Addition at Highland Park High School:


• The eastern section of all floors continues to install mechanical and electrical overhead, and interior wall partitions are being installed and sheathed.
• Nearly 80 percent of the basement floor slab has been poured. The first pour in a series of three pan-deck concrete pours for the roof of the basement storm shelter has been completed.
• The exterior wall sheathing is ongoing.
• The structure is on schedule for completion in late June.

 

Multi-Use Building:

• All grade beams have been installed.
• Underground plumbing and electrical processing are ongoing.
• The Scots baseball scoreboard has been permanently relocated.

 

Natatorium Infill and High School Renovations:

• The design is complete. Construction drawings are now in production.
• The Natatorium infill and new student entry zoning were approved by City Council. The project is scheduled to bid in late February.
• Interior renovations are scheduled to start construction during the summer of 2019.
• Construction of the natatorium infill is not scheduled to start until the Multi-Use Building (along with the new pool) is completed. (Proposed start Feb. 2020).

 

Highlander Stadium Renovations:
• Schematic Design is scheduled to start in May 2019.
• Construction is scheduled to start in Feb. 2020.

Bradfield Elementary Rebuild:

  • The parking garage walls and columns are almost complete.
  • Two of the three slab concrete pours for the parking garage have been completed.
  • The first of five pours for the garage lid was placed yesterday. 
  • Steel erection should be completed in the education wing by the end of January.
  • The installation of exterior studs and sheathing is ongoing.
  • Interior wall framing in the education wing is continuing throughout all three floors.
  • Mechanical, electrical and plumbing installation is ongoing.
  • The campus is on schedule for completion during the summer of 2019.
 

Hyer Elementary Rebuild:

  • Architects continue to develop plans for the project.
  • The city of UP Planning and Zoning recommended zoning approval on January 8 and forwarded to the City Council for hearing in February.
  • Construction is scheduled to start during the summer of 2019.
 

Renovations and Additions at MIS/HPMS:

  • The south side addition steel erection is now complete, while the second and third-floor slabs have been poured.
  • The installation of exterior wall stud is almost complete and building sheathing is near completion. Roofing installation is ongoing.
  • Interior framing and HVAC ductwork installation are ongoing and 75 percent complete.  
  • The north addition steel is now erected and the second and third-floor slabs have been poured.
  • Construction workers are parking their vehicles in the parking garage.
 

Northwest Addition at Highland Park High School:

  • The eastern section of all floors has been poured. Fireproofing is now underway.
  • Nearly 65 percent of the basement floor slab has been poured. 
  • Exterior and interior wall framing are underway.
  • The structure is on schedule for completion during the late spring.
 

Multi-Use Building:

  • Pier drilling has been completed and all piers are now poured.
  • The grade beams are being formed and concrete pours will begin in mid-January. 
  • Underground plumbing and electrical wiring are scheduled to start in late January.

  • The design is complete and construction drawings are in production.
  • Interior renovations are scheduled to start during the summer of 2019.

  • The contractor continues to pour parking garage walls and columns.
  • Grade beams have been poured in their allocated areas.
  • Steel erection continues in the education wing.
 

Hyer Elementary Rebuild:

  • Architects continue to develop plans for the project.
  • Plans are scheduled to be submitted to the City in December to start the staff review for zoning approval.
  • Construction is scheduled to start during the summer of 2019.
 

Renovations and Additions at MIS/HPMS:

  • The garage fire suppression system is complete and has been approved; construction workers can now occupy the underground parking garage while on site.
  • The southside addition steel erection has been completed. The second-floor slab is scheduled to pour in early December and the third-floor slab will be poured directly after. Exterior wall stud installation is ongoing, as well as the HVAC ductwork installation. 
  • The north addition steel is being re-erected, following removal during Thanksgiving break to correct a floor height error.
  • The old main electrical switchgear was replaced over Thanksgiving break.
  • As a result of the weather, and issues with steel and concrete subs, the schedule is being adjusted. All of the renovation work will now occur over the summer. The final completion date has not been affected by this change.
 

Northwest Addition at Highland Park High School:

  • The eastern section of all floors has been poured. Fireproofing is now underway.
  • The basement floor slab will be poured through the end of December.
  • Exterior and interior wall framing are underway.
  • The structure is on schedule for completion in late spring.
 

Multi-Use Building:

  • Final grading has been completed.
  • Pier drilling is now underway.
 

Natatorium Infill and Interior High School Renovations:

  • The design is complete and construction drawings are in production.
  • Interior renovations are scheduled to start during the summer of 2019.

Facilities Update November 2018

 

Highland Park ISD continues to make progress with design and construction related to the $361.4 million bond election approved by voters in November 2015. 

Bradfield Elementary Rebuild:

  • The west stair steel has been installed, while steel detailing and roof joist installation continues.
  • Waterproofing was completed around the elevator pit and most of the west garage walls, in between periods of rain. 
  • The North walls of the garage have started to be poured and steel has now been set for garage columns.
  • The school is on schedule for completion during the summer of 2019.
 

Hyer Elementary Rebuild:

  • Architects continue to develop plans for the project.
  • Plans are scheduled to be submitted to the City in December to start the staff review for zoning approval.
  • Construction is scheduled to start during the summer of 2019.
 

Renovations and Additions at MIS/HPMS:

  • The contractor continues to work on the garage fire suppression system so construction workers can occupy it during the construction of the additions. The garage is scheduled to be available for parking for workers by the end of November.
  • The southside addition steel erection is almost complete. The second-floor slab scheduled to pour in mid-November.
  • The crane was moved to the north addition side and the north addition steel erection has begun. 
  • The remaining renovation work is scheduled to start at spring break when the students can be moved into the completed additions.
 

Northwest Addition at Highland Park High School:

  • The second-floor slab was poured during the first week of November.
  • The third-floor slab is scheduled to be poured.
  • The concrete wall construction is ongoing, and the structure is on schedule for completion during late spring.
 

Multi-Use Building:

  • The old Seay Tennis Center is completely demolished.
  • Excavation is at 50 percent and should be complete by end of November. 
  • The construction permit has been approved by the City.
 

Natatorium Infill and Interior High School Renovations:

  • The design is complete and construction drawings are in production.
  • Interior renovations are scheduled to start during the summer of 2019.
  • Construction of the natatorium infill is not scheduled to start until the Multi-Use Building (with the new pool) is completed. A proposed start date is currently Feb. 2020.
 

Highlander Stadium Renovations:

  • Planning for a schematic design is scheduled to start in May 2019.
  • Construction is scheduled to start Feb 2020. 

 

Facilities Update October 2018

 

Highland Park ISD continues to make progress with design and construction related to the $361.4 million bond election approved by voters in November 2015. 

University Park Elementary Rebuild:

The playfield is installed, and the remaining landscaping and outdoor learning gardens will be completed by the first few weeks of October.

Armstrong Elementary Addition and Renovation:

The major auditorium remodel is on schedule to be completed mid-October. Some of the landscaping is still being installed and will be fenced off until completion. 

Bradfield Elementary Rebuild:
 
 

The time-lapse camera has been installed and can be viewed here. Excavation of the parking garage is complete, piers are 100% poured and support walls are being installed. The education wing slab is poured and steel erection is scheduled to start in early October. The school is on schedule for completion summer of 2019. 

Hyer Elementary Rebuild:
 
 
Plans for the new Hyer Elementary School are beginning to take shape. The drawings above were presented to the Hyer Legacy Committee, Hyer PTA Executive Committee, Dads Club leadership, staff, neighbors and the HPISD Board of Trustees in October. To view the presentation, please click here. The construction is scheduled to start the summer of 2019.
 
Renovations/Additions at MIS/HPMS:
 
The underground parking garage is complete, and a concrete ramp to the garage has been installed. The garage will not be occupiable except by construction workers until the classroom additions are complete, as the fire alarm systems for the entire construction must be operational to ensure safety. The partial field is now in use and construction fencing has been installed for safety. The South and North addition slabs are complete. The remaining renovation work is scheduled to start at spring break when the students can be moved into the completed additions.
 

Northwest Addition at Highland Park High School:

Structural steel erection is ongoing, as well as the construction of the concrete wall. The structure is on schedule for completion in late spring.

Seay Tennis Center:

The building is now occupied.

Multi-Use Building:

The old Seay is almost completely demolished. The demolition should be 100% complete before the end of October.

Natatorium Infill and Interior High School Renovations:

The design is complete and construction drawings are in production. Construction not scheduled to start until the Multi-Use Building is completed (Proposed start Feb. 2020).

Facilities Update September 2018

 

Highland Park ISD continues to make progress with design and construction related to the $361.4 million bond election approved by voters in November 2015. 

University Park Elementary Rebuild:

All exterior stone and brick installation have been completed. The playfield and some additional landscaping is still being installed. A construction fence will be maintained around the areas still being worked on to ensure safety.
 
Armstrong Elementary Addition and Renovation:

Renovations to Armstrong are essentially complete, except for the major auditorium remodel which is scheduled to be completed in mid-October. New landscaping around the building is being installed and will be fenced off until completion in the next few weeks.
 
Bradfield Elementary Rebuild:

Excavation of the parking garage is complete, and piers are 50 percent poured. All piers have been installed in the education wing, grade beams have been installed, and the slab is scheduled to be poured this week. Construction is ahead of schedule, and the campus is on track to be completed in the summer of 2019.
 
Hyer Elementary:

Balto now stands tall in the entryway of Elementary #5 to welcome Hyer students and staff into their temporary home. The Design and Construction Committee, after multiple deliberations, directed the architects to proceed with conceptual plans for a two-story school. Construction is scheduled to start summer 2019.
 
Renovations/Additions at MIS/HPMS:

The large underground parking garage is complete, however, the parking garage will not be occupiable until the classroom additions are complete, as the fire alarm systems for the entire construction site must be operational to ensure safety.
 
The partial field is anticipated to be available during the last week of September, weather permitting. Construction fencing has been installed for safety.
 
Both the south and north addition slabs are complete. Steel is scheduled to begin installation this week. Partial renovation work on the girls' athletics locker rooms and interior hallways was completed in time for the first day of school. The remaining renovation work is scheduled to start during the week of spring break when the students can be moved into the completed additions.
 
Northwest Addition at Highland Park High School:

The piers on site are now 100 percent installed and the columns have been poured. Structural steel placement is ongoing as the Northwest Addition begins to take shape.
 
Seay Tennis Center:

With three large tennis courts and high ceilings, this state-of-the-art facility is complete and ready for the first home court match this week.
 
Multi-Use Building:

Construction for the Multi-Use Building is right around the corner, with an anticipated start date this month. HPISD will soon obtain the permit for demolition of the former Seay Center, and construction at the site will begin.
 
Natatorium Infill and Interior High School Renovations:
The design is now complete and construction drawings are in production. Construction, however, is not scheduled to start until the Multi-Use Building is completed (proposed start February 2020).

 

Facilities Update August 2018

Highland Park ISD continues to make progress with design and construction related to the $361.4 million bond election approved by voters in November 2015. 

University Park Elementary School: 

  • On Thursday, Aug. 23 the Panthers were welcomed into their new home for the first day of school. The contractor is still working on some minor items that will not disrupt learning or be noticed by the students and staff inside the building.
  • The playfield and some additional landscaping are being installed. The playfield will likely not be available for play until the end of September. However, the playground and large outdoor surfaces are available. A construction fence will be maintained around the areas still being worked on to ensure safety.
 
 Armstrong Elementary School Addition and Renovation:

  • Armstrong’s three new flexible learning spaces are ready for students, and interior renovations throughout the school’s halls and classrooms have been completed. A full renovation in the main office and clinic has also been completed in time for the first day of school. Similar to UP, the contractor is still working on some minor items that will not disrupt learning or be noticed by the students and staff inside the building.
  • New landscaping around the building is being installed and will be fenced off until completion in the next few weeks.
 

Bradfield Elementary School:

  • Bradfield has completed the move to its temporary location at the former Hyer Elementary site as their new home is being built for the 2019-20 school year.
  • At the construction site for Bradfield, the contractor has salvaged and safely stored all of the items identified by the Legacy Committee.
  • Excavation of the underground parking garage is almost complete, the education wing has been graded, and all piers have been installed. Ahead of schedule, Bradfield Elementary is on track for a completion date in the summer of 2019.
 

Hyer Elementary School:

  • Balto now stands tall in the entryway of Elementary #5 to welcome Hyer students and staff into their temporary home. The architects are currently in the process of developing conceptual plans for a two-story Hyer Elementary.
  • Construction for Hyer Elementary is scheduled to start during the summer of 2019.
 

Renovations/Additions at MIS/HPMS:

  • The large underground parking garage is complete, however, the parking garage will not be occupiable until the classroom additions are complete, as the fire alarm systems for the entire construction site must be operational to ensure safety.
  • The partial field will not be available for the first few weeks of school due to soil movement requiring some sod removal and reinstallation. During this time, fencing around the partial field has been installed for safety.
  • The South addition slab is complete and the North addition has added piers and grade beams.
  • Partial renovation work on the girl’s athletics locker rooms and interior hallways has been completed in time for the first day of school. The remaining renovation work is scheduled to start during the week of spring break when the students can be moved into the completed additions.
 

Northwest Addition at Highland Park High School:

  • The piers on site are now 100 percent installed and the columns have been poured. Structural steel placement is ongoing as the Northwest Addition begins to take shape.
 

Seay Tennis Center new building:

  • With three large tennis courts and high ceilings, this state-of-the-art facility is complete and ready for the first home court match.
 

Multi-Use Building:

  • Construction for the Multi-Use Building is right around the corner, with an anticipated start date in early September. HPISD will soon obtain the permit for demolition, and construction at the site will begin.
 

Natatorium Infill and Interior High School Renovations:

  • The design is now complete and construction drawings are in production.
  • Construction, however, is not scheduled to start until the Multi-Use Building is completed (proposed start February 2020).
 

Facilities Update June 2018

Highland Park ISD continues to make progress with design and construction related to the $361.4 million bond election approved by voters in November 2015. 

University Park Elementary School Rebuild:  

 

  • The building roof is 95% complete for the entire building and terra cotta tile installation has begun.
  • The brick is 90% installed, however, the cast stone entries require additional engineering of the design prior to the final installation. 
  • The drywall 99% complete.
  • The HVAC system is 95% complete and ready to fire up once permanent power has been installed.
  • Mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-in are 100% complete in the classroom and administrative wing, and 80% complete in the cafeteria wing.
  • Brickwork is ongoing around the building.
  • Ceramic tile installation is 50% installed in the kitchen.
  • The replacement of existing city sidewalks is at 60%. 
  • We continue to be on schedule for opening in August 2018.

Armstrong Elementary School Renovation: 
 
 
  • Construction of the addition is ongoing and the renovation work has started.
  • The exterior brick wall installation has started.
  • The structural concrete masonry units are complete.
  • The AC duct and fire sprinkler installation is 90% completed in the addition. Electrical and plumbing are 70% complete.
  • Wall framing in the addition is ongoing.
  • The interior demolition is ongoing, and all carpet has been removed.
  • Asbestos abatement in the auditorium is completed.
  • The project is scheduled for completion for the start of next school year.
 
Bradfield Elementary School Rebuild:  
 
 
  • The Town Council approved the zoning and additional aesthetic enhancements on May 29.
  • The contractor is working on a final logistics plan with the Town.
  • Asbestos abatement has started and should be complete this week.
  • Demolition is scheduled to start later this month.
 
Hyer Elementary School Rebuild:

  • The movers have relocated all files and classroom materials to Elementary #5, and the building is currently being prepped to receive Bradfield administration and classroom material.
  • The Design and Construction Committee is still reviewing massing options. No decisions have been made regarding the number of floors for the building, the height, or the look of the school at this time.
  • Construction is scheduled to start summer 2019.

  • Four garage elevated deck pours have been completed. All deck concrete is scheduled to be completed during the last week of June (subject to weather).
  • The waterproofing of the deck and backfilling is underway. The partial field is still on schedule to be available for the start of school.
  • Grade beams for the south addition are ongoing and scheduled for completion at the end of June. Underground mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-in is ongoing.
  • The South addition slab is 60% poured.
  • The North addition site grading is ongoing.
  • Interior renovation work has started.
 
Northwest Addition at Highland Park High School:
 
 
  • The Earth retention system has been completed.
  • Piers are 100% installed.
  • The footer and grade beams are 70% installed.
  • All subsoil drainage to be completed this week.
  • The slab is scheduled for pouring at the end of June.
  • The Structural steel erection is scheduled to begin the first week of July.
 
Seay Tennis Center:
 
 
  • The interior walls are now completed and sheet rocked. The taping and bedding of walls is ongoing.
  • Roofing is 100% complete.
  • The building has permanent power.
  • Exterior brick installation is complete.
  • The storefront is installed and exterior sidewalks have been poured. 
  • Mechanical, plumbing and electrical is 85% complete.
  • Interior painting is ongoing and the ceiling grid installation is underway.
  • Data cabling and security system installation is ongoing.
  • The building completion is scheduled for the end of July.

  • The project is scheduled to stay in sequence with the construction completion date for the new Seay Center.
  • The proposed GMP was reviewed by the Design and Construction Committee and the value engineering options were discussed. The recommended GMP was approved at the June HPISD Board of Trustees meeting.
