Student Teachers & Observers

Coming Soon...

Highland Park Independent School District welcomes the opportunity to assist, support, and nurture student teachers and student observers across our 8 campuses. The District strives to place strong mentors with student teachers and student observers so they can learn and develop through positive experiences. The ultimate goal is to develop strong teacher candidates who support the mission and vision of the District, and who, at the end of their successful student teaching experience, can secure a full-time teaching position in HPISD.

PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT ANYONE AT THE CAMPUS DIRECTLY.

Requests for student teaching and student observation placements must be made by your university or ACP program. University students or Alternative Certification Programs (ACP) candidates eligible for clinical teaching or conducting student observations should complete this request form.

If you have any questions regarding the clinical student teacher/student observation process, please contact Melinda Tubb at [email protected] or 214-780-3012.

Application Process

Step 1: Student teachers and student observers must complete the Criminal History Check. This form can be found here.

Step 2: Student teachers and observers must complete a district application form. This application can be found here.

Step 3: HPISD will coordinate and assign placements for all student teachers and student observers. Placements will be communicated to EPPs.
