HPISD voters elect 2 to serve on Board of Trustees

Place 6 Trustee-Elect Koch will replace Stacy Kelly, who is retiring from Board service after serving two terms as a trustee. Place 7 Trustee-Elect Flowers will replace retiring trustee Tom Sharpe, who was elected to the board in 2017 and has served as Board President since 2021. Flowers ran unopposed.

  • Paul Calce - 656 votes (17.55%)
  • Alexander H. Stein - 47 votes (1.26%)
  • Blythe Koch - 3,034 votes (81.19%)

Place 7

  • Pete Flowers - 3,193 votes (100%) 

The new Trustees were sworn into office at the Tuesday, May 16 School Board meeting. Thank you to each candidate who ran to serve as a trustee and to all HPISD voters who participated in the process.

 

New trustees sworn in, board officers elected

The Highland Park Board of Trustees welcomed two new board members at its May 16 meeting. Newly elected trustees Blythe Koch, Place 6, and Pete Flowers, Place 7, took the oath of office to begin their service on the board. Both are serving three-year terms.

The first order of business for the 2023-24 Highland Park ISD Board of Trustees was the election of officers. Trustees elected Maryjane Bonfield to serve as Board President, Bryce Benson as Vice President and Jae Ellis as Secretary. Doug Woodward will continue to serve as Finance Chair.
