The Town of Highland Park plans to present HPISD with podiums made from the grand old pecan tree that was once known as the Million Dollar Tree. The district thanked the Town and former Mayor Margo Goodwin at the recent trustee meeting.

The HPISD 2022-23 Teachers of the Year were recognized Aug. 10 at the annual Convocation celebration held for staff to kick off the school year.

Highland Park ISD English/Language Arts (ELA) teachers in grades K-8 from all five elementary schools, the intermediate and middle school campuses came together July 6 and 7 to develop the first nine-weeks curriculum map for the new ELA anchor resources.

Two experienced music educators have been selected to lead the band program at McCulloch Intermediate School and Highland Park Middle School. John Vanhook has been named the new band director and Lindsay Pfaff will be the new assistant band director.

The HPHS Environmental Architecture class, part of the Moody Advanced Professional Studies (MAPS) Program, constructed a playhouse that will be on display as part of Dallas CASA’s (Court-Appointed Special Advocates) 27th annual Parade of Playhouses that runs July 15-31 at NorthPark Center.
