August 15, 2023 - HPISD Announces Reduced Tax Rate for 2023-24
The HPISD Board of Trustees has made a significant decision regarding the school district's tax rate for the 2023-24 academic year. This year, the tax rate has been set at $0.8927, marking a considerable decrease of $0.1851 from the previous year's rate.
Scott Drillette, the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services at HPISD, highlighted the impact of this decision, saying, “This over 17% reduction in the tax rate translates into lower school tax bills for HPISD homeowners.” This year's reduction continues a trend, as it's the fifth consecutive year the Board has decreased the tax rate.
