HPHS sophomore Karianne Grove-Collins and freshman Mimi Tafel performed with the Highlander Band and color guard Nov. 18 at the football playoff game. The feature twirlers performed a new duet routine for the Highland Park fans.
The two HP feature twirlers then went down to San Antonio Nov. 19 for the Annual Fall Festival Twirling Competition, and both girls won their respective pageants. Grove-Collins had a clean sweep of the 16-and-over division, taking first place in all of her six events. Tafel had a very competitive field in the 13-15 age group and took third in her two events. It was a great showing in their first contest of the competition season.
