Message of gratitude

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. In the Trigg household, it is special for many reasons, most importantly for what the day symbolizes. It emphasizes family and time spent with loved ones giving thanks for the blessings we have in our lives, without the hustle and bustle that might come with other holidays.

Living in this wonderful community for the past seven years, spending time with students, parents and community members who make it such a special place to call home is on my list of blessings. My wife Julie and I are so very grateful for the friendships we have been blessed with in Highland Park and for the opportunities we have had to serve such an amazing community.

As I reflect on the things that I am grateful for, my thoughts gravitate to how grateful I am for our students who are engaged and excited about learning, to our parents and community who are committed to education, to our teachers who help students grow and reach their potential, to our staff who support classroom learning by keeping our schools running safely and smoothly, and to our School Board Trustees who volunteer their time and talents to fulfilling our vision of unrivaled post-secondary success for every student.

Next week, I encourage you to take time to reflect upon the blessings in your life and give thanks for family and friends while taking time to relax and enjoy the activities that you find rejuvenating.

Best wishes to you and your families this Thanksgiving.

Sincerely,

Tom Trigg
