Senior Evan Wang earned the points that propelled the Scots to the top spot with his bronze medal-winning performance in Lincoln-Douglas Debate.
"It is certainly another great day to be a Scot," HPHS Principal Jeremy Gilbert said. "It's nothing short of remarkable what our talented students and their coaches are able to accomplish with their dedication, hard work and competitive spirit.
"Kudos to our Science, Mathematics, Number Sense and Social Studies teams for their stellar UIL performances earlier this month that set HP up for the win. And I can't say enough about Wenzen Chuang, Andy Speir, Temple Truax and Toby Whisenhunt who coached our kids to perform at the very highest level.
