Lady Scots cross country senior captain Cameron Fawcett won the 2020 Class 5A/6A Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) Cross Country Athlete of the Year Award. Sam Tipton, Executive Director of the TGCA, presented her with the award April 9 at Germany Park.
During the 2020 season in five races prior to the District Meet, Fawcett placed second in the first two meets and won the next three. She set a new personal record at the Lovejoy Fall Festival with a time of 17:38.2, then at the UIL State Meet beat that personal record with a time of 17:29.01.
She will be attending Vanderbilt University next year on a cross country/track and field scholarship.
