The Highlander Band will compete in the final round of the 2019 UIL State Marching Band Contest this afternoon at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The band was named Area Champion at the UIL 5A Area C Marching Contest Oct. 26 and earned a spot in the state contest. HP is making its second trip to state following a 10th-place finish in the 2017 State Marching Band Contest.
