District recognizes food service staff

HPISD took time this week to recognize its dedicated food service staff as part of Food Service Appreciation Week. Each day, food service staff serve up delicious food, smiles and service with heart while ensuring that growing minds have the fuel they need to succeed.

022723_ARM_CAFEMANAGERArmstrong Cafeteria Manager Annie Celestino shared what she loves about HPISD cafeterias, noting how great it feels to make a positive impact on a student's day. “I love seeing students' faces light up with excitement every day when they come through the line,” said Celestino. “Whether it’s because of a new item on the line or simply because we have their favorite food on the day's menu, that is my favorite part about preparing meals for my Armstrong Eagles!”
MIS/HPMS Cafeteria Manager Brenda Vardell expressed how proud she is of her staff. “Our staff is the best," said Vardell. "They work hard and are dedicated to their jobs.” She also emphasized the importance of having a well-balanced team when serving two schools on one campus. “Staff are always working to conquer new challenges. I couldn’t do it without them.”

As a district, we know these sentiments are shared by each of our school's cafeteria managers and echoed by HPISD Food Service Director Lynn Prichard.
