Winning score propels Scots gymnasts to #2 state ranking

The Scots gymnastics team won again Dec. 1, beating 11 teams at the LD Bell Toys for Tots Invitational. Their winning score of 174.6 ranks them second in the State.
 
Clay Staunton won three events and was second in the other three events. He is still the #1-ranked gymnast in the state and remains undefeated in the All-Around, a title he has held since 2021.
 
Lance Lorio's 9.85 average over two meets makes him the #2-ranked on Rings.
 
John Sartain had a personal best of 57.2 in the All-Around and is ranked sixth in the state. Sartain was second on Pommel Horse with a 9.9 and second on Parallel Bars with a 9.8, while placing fourth in the All-Around.
 
Austin Chapman also competed on three events, placing second on Pommel Horse and Parallel Bars.
