Students raise more than $21K for Williams syndrome research

Four Highland Park High School seniors were on a mission to help raise money to support research for Williams syndrome, a rare genetic condition. HPHS students Campbell Nelson, Ella Scott Singleton, Reese Singleton and Tatum Thomason set a goal to raise at least $10,000 for their cause through Ruby’s Runway, a dress resale fundraising event.

The girls collected more than 400 gently used dresses that were available for resale. Through the online campaign and the actual one-day dress resale event the four high school students raised a total of $21,186 for Williams syndrome research, a true testament of Scots going forth to serve.
