Among the various events honoring heroes who have served and continue to serve our country was the 4th annual Armstrong Elementary Veterans Day Celebration. Students met and heard from guest speakers from each branch of military including Armstrong Dads Club President Maj. Nick Silva (Air Force), HPHS Class of '03 Lt. Clement George (Navy), HPHS Class of '13 Sgt. Nolan Bagwell (Marines) and Cpl. Jayson Briggs (Army).
Bradfield students made cards honoring veterans, heard from special guest speakers and created a wall of honor. Sixth-grade students at McCulloch Intermediate identified at-risk veterans as beneficiaries of its service project collection drive.
