May facility update, bond progress on time

The Highland Park High School natatorium infill project is in its final stages of construction and remains on schedule to be completed in August 2021. Exterior brickwork, cast stone, windows, elevator installation and interior wall framing are all completed. Sheet rocking of walls in the basement and on the first and second floors is completed. The third floor is nearing completion. Mechanical, plumbing and electrical on the first floor two floors is finished and teams are working to complete the third floor. Interior finishes are also well underway with 50 percent of all ceramic tile installed in restroom areas and on the main stairwell. Painting is also in progress. Ceiling grids will begin to go in before the end of the month. Storm pump holding tanks for subgrade drainage are functioning and in use. Work will continue through the summer in preparation for the start of next school year when the new classrooms and labs are expected to be ready for teachers and students.
