Scots senior captain Henry Hoy placed third at the UIL 5A State Championship Tournament April 23 at the Berry Center in Cypress. Hoy headed into the tournament as the Region III 170-lb. class champion with an undefeated season record of 30-0. Following his only loss on the season, Hoy won the consolation final match and a bronze medal to end his season with a 32-1 record.
Teammates Cooper Chapman (106-lb. class Region III champion) and Jake Waskey (120-lb. class Region III runner-up) also competed at the state tournament. Chapman ended the year with a 30-4 record and Waskey was 25-5 for the year.
