HPISD student wins Congressional App Challenge

Highland Park High School student Matthew Mattei, was named the 2020 Congressional App Challenge (TX-32) by Rep. Colin Allred for developing the Music Literacy Trainer app. Mattei was inspired to create the app when he heard that the younger brother of a friend was missing music classes last spring due to school closures related to the pandemic. Matteiā€™s response was to create a free educational resource through an app that teaches users the foundations of reading music.
