HP grad earns national award

Recent graduate Presley Echols ('20) was honored at the Lady Scots soccer team's opening game for being named the United Soccer Coaches 2020 National Player of the Year.

Echols, a current University of Texas player, was awarded this national honor after a record-breaking career at Highland Park High School. During her four years at HP, she scored 158 goals, helped lead HP to two state championships in 2017 and 2019, was a four-time All-State player, a two-time Dallas Morning News Player of the Year, a USA Today Female Athlete of the Year and a four-time All-American. This most recent accolade is among the highest honors a high school player can earn.
