Launching a generation of success

At the Jan. 21 school board meeting, HPHS student council president Brynnley Beckman introduced the HPMS varsity treble choir. The seventh and eighth-grade choir members, directed by Katie McDaniel, performed “Give Us Hope.” To coincide with this year’s theme “Launching the Next Generation,” each board member was given a small rocket designed and created with a 3D printer by students enrolled in Moody Professional Advanced Studies. The class is taught by Chris Fullwood. HPMS eighth-grader Linda Chen designed a graphic framed and signed for each trustee by students across the district. Linda is a student in Aaron Cappotelli’s journalism class.

As our students and staff journey into a new generation, our school district is grateful for a school board focused on the futures of every child, every day. The HPISD Board of Trustees volunteer their time in an unpaid position to set policy and vote on district operations and initiatives to maintain excellence in our community.
