Bond 2024

• Cafeteria Renovation (2026): Construction began in February 2026 on a major renovation of the Highland Park High School cafeteria. Summer work includes expanded serving lines, updated finishes, a more open dining layout, new seating, upgraded lighting and fixtures, and raising the orchestra pit. The cafeteria team has operated from a temporary remote kitchen during construction.
• Transportation Improvements: Seven new activity buses were purchased through Bond 2024. Four buses have been delivered, with the remaining buses arriving during summer 2026. These updates are projected to save the district more than $400,000 annually in operating costs.
• Summer 2026 Campus Improvements: Projects include complete student restroom renovations, updated doors and hardware, stairway flooring and handrail improvements, auditorium house lighting upgrades, HVAC enhancements, and improvements to dumpster and recycling areas.
• Lovers Lane Development: Demolition is underway to create a new student parking lot, bus lot, and practice field. The Grassmere Field parking lot and bus lot are scheduled for completion by fall 2026, with the student parking expansion and new turf practice field anticipated for spring 2027.
• Summer 2025 Bond 2024 Projects: Completed improvements included classroom and common area renovations, campus lighting upgrades, and enhancements to the Gary Weber Indoor Practice Facility.
• Fine Arts Enhancements: Highland Park Fine Arts received two new band trailers and new Highland Park Scots band uniforms, which will be utilized beginning in the 2026–27 school year.

• Summer 2026 Campus Improvements: Armstrong Elementary is undergoing several Bond 2024 projects, including locker replacements, gym updates, restroom renovations, classroom flooring upgrades, and the installation of new classroom whiteboards and display boards.
• Infrastructure & Safety Enhancements: Additional summer projects include door and window improvements, stairway upgrades, and updated campus branding and wayfinding to improve functionality, safety, and navigation throughout the school.
• Summer 2025 Bond 2024 Projects: Earlier Bond 2024 improvements included new flooring in classrooms and common areas, updated paint finishes, and modern LED lighting throughout the campus. These enhancements brightened learning spaces while improving energy efficiency.
• Front Office Renovation: Armstrong also received an updated front office space, creating a more welcoming and functional entrance for students, staff, families, and visitors.

Districtwide Safety & Security Improvements: Bond 2024 investments continue to enhance safety and security across HPISD through the installation of new security cameras, access control systems, alarm systems, emergency call-out buttons, and safety fencing. These upgrades are expected to be substantially completed by the end of 2026, further strengthening campus security districtwide.

Investing in Teachers & Staff: Thanks to the passage of Bond 2024, Highland Park ISD is able to direct more general fund dollars toward teacher and staff compensation, ensuring that employees remain at the center of every district investment. Through the combined support of Bond 2024, the Highland Park Education Foundation's Mad for Plaid campaign, and contributions from PTA/PTO organizations and La Fiesta, HPISD continues to offer some of the most competitive teacher salaries in North Texas, including leading compensation for educators with advanced degrees. As the district enters the 2026–27 school year, eligible employees will receive a 4% salary increase, further supporting HPISD's commitment to attracting and retaining exceptional educators and staff.
