Highland Park ISD prides itself on having a committed faculty and staff where excellence is the expectation. There is strong parental and community support for our schools, and HP parents are very active in the PTAs, Dads Clubs, HP Sports Club, and other organizations. If indeed schools are a reflection of the community they serve, the residents of the Park Cities have appreciated the importance of quality education since the first campus opened in 1914.

 

The Park Cities' high expectations for and support of the public schools have created an educational environment that is second to none. Geographically the district is a six-square-mile residential community completely surrounded by the city of Dallas. HPISD serves approximately 7,000 students from the City of University Park, the Town of Highland Park and a small section of the City of Dallas, which comprise the Park Cities. Downtown Dallas is only minutes away. Park Cities residents enjoy many of the cultural, recreational and entertainment advantages of the Dallas/Fort Worth area known as the Metroplex. The area is the home to some of the finest museums in the Southwest, as well as a growing number of national corporations, universities and professional sports teams.
