What coverage is provided by the district?
Highland Park offers the Aetna PPO dental plan, which allows employees to visit the dentist of their choice. If a chosen dentist is on the PPO plan, the charges are discounted, therefore lowering the employee cost of treatment. The plan covers preventative services at 100%, basic services at 80% after deductible, and major services at 50% after deductible. The annual deductible is $50, and the annual benefit maximum is $1,500. There is also a lifetime benefit of $2,000 for each covered dependent under age 19 for orthodontic services.
Highland Park ISD currently pays 100% of the full-time employee premium for this coverage. Employees may add eligible dependents to their coverage by paying a monthly rate for each dependent added during the annual enrollment period or due to family status changes.
